Original Watermen started out of a VW camper wagon in the 1980’s, with a vision to provide quality Lifeguard swimwear to the local agencies around Carlsbad, California. The industry standard swimwear for lifeguards at that time would not even make a full summer season under the hardy circumstances that daily lifeguarding ensures. The vision continued to grow, and a few years later the California state parks system took notice. Currently Original Watermen provides to 2000 lifeguard organizations worldwide. We built this company on the promise bringing quality products to the beach, where they can and will be tested in the same harsh conditions that the top lifeguards endure.

Our Watermen Stretch short is made of an advanced four-way super stretch, high-tech performance fabric that allows for easy movement in and out of the water. Our lifeguard based apparel is also proven to be quick drying, so your guards can comfortably go from the water and back to the unit with no need to keep extra pairs of dry shorts. For female guards, our lifeguard swimsuits come in both one- and two-piece designs. Our very popular Performance Hybrid Suit is guaranteed to last many summers and is a modest, comfortable one-piece swimsuit which is designed for either lifeguard performance or recreational swimmers. The Rescue Bikini, which is 78% poly and 22% spandex is manufactured with our branded Extra Life Lycra, this suit is known to be the most comfortable on the market and is fully lined to eliminate transparency.  Because it is fully lined, it adds the needed support when running from rescue to citizen contact back to another rescue. Our Elasta Girl Super Stretch Short is made with the same high-tech four-way super stretch poly microfiber in our men’s line, and can be used both as a regular short and a cover up.
